BODY/SOUL CONNECTION

Body/soul is defined as an integration of physical body and subtle mind.

They are non-separate and are a holistic tapestry woven with rich communication systems.

When in sync and harmonious you have the healthy complete being. When disconnected you have dis-ease and dys-function.

The mind and body are connected by your Central Nervous System. Your Central Nervous System is a communication network that receives and sends information from your thoughts and emotions to your brain and all your organs. The Central Nervous System is nurtured by the Cerebral Spinal Fluid (C.S.F.) that flows up and down the spinal cord and into the brain. C.S.F. carry the blueprint of DNA that nurtures and feeds organs that connect to the major endocrine organs that relate to the energy chakras.

The body and the soul are reflections of each other. All the emotions and life experience contributes in the formation and structuring of muscles and body tissues. That is soul effects body, body effects soul.

There are five aspects that are known to influence the formation of the human body/soul. They are,

  • Heredity, this includes genetics and information passed from parents

  • Physical exposure, physical activity positive and negative (including trauma) that we experience

  • Emotional and psychological exposure, how you perceive and assimilate life’s events

  • Nutrition, how you choose to fuel your body/soul needs

  • Environment, the physical, social and psychological structures within which we live our lives.

You know when you are disconnected from your body/soul when you exhibit some of the following signs and symptoms,

  • you are not really present in the moment

  • you have an inability to flow with life’s experiences

  • you feel “out of sorts, not quiet right”

  • unable to distinguish past from present

  • unable to determine fact from fantasy

  • you are existing or just functioning in life

  • you experience mental stress like symptoms e.g. irritability, anger, confusion, depression, anxiety, insomnia, tension, moodiness, lowered self-esteem, phobias,  guilt, negative thought patterns, forgetfulness, indecision and unable to focus.

  • you may experience physical stress like symptoms e.g. high blood pressure, nausea, backache, hyperventilation, a decreased immune system, rash, increased  blood sugar levels, sweating, difficult in breathing, tense muscles and tingling or numbing sensations.

There are many ways of interrupting the dysfunctional cycle and reconnecting the bodysoul, they include,

  • grounding exercises

  • nontoxic diet

  • exercise

  • laughter

  • pranayama

  • creative expression e.g. arts dance, painting, singing.

  • the six tibetans

They say that there are two certainties in life, death and taxes. Now there is a third. You are born with the body/soul that you will have for the entirety of your life. It will serve you only as well as you choose to serve yourself. Your body/soul will walk with you, sleep with you, laugh with you and love with you.  You need to treat yourself with honor, respect and self-love to maintain connection with yourself.
